Employee Spotlight: Shreedevi Manivannan

“I have been privileged to work alongside highly supportive and knowledgeable colleagues, and together we have consistently achieved our shared goals through collaboration and mutual trust.”

Could you share some insights into your background and how you came to join FLAG?

I am a Change Management professional with a strong Techno-Commercial background, experienced in Business Process Transformation both in Service and Manufacturing sector, having exposure to global operations across multi‑geography environments. I was always keen to understand the complex business processes right from my early career, which enabled me to contribute to the business outcomes resulting not just from new technology implementation, but also from core Finance processes.

I joined FLAG in 2015, when the organisation was expanding its presence to strengthen its capabilities as a global telecom connectivity leader. The compelling strategic ambition, continuous evolution drive and ongoing transformations impressed me then and continues to do so now – especially since it encourages growth and meaningful contribution from its workforce – and this led me to join FLAG.

What motivates you in your role at FLAG, and how do you maintain your inspiration?

My greatest motivation in my role at FLAG is that it continuously challenges me to innovate, learn and overcome new complexities while contributing meaningfully and growing professionally. Knowing that I am adding value to FLAG through my work – be it for improving efficacies of workstreams or enhancing business outcomes from core transformation – gives me a deep sense of satisfaction which is an excellent motivator.

My inspiration stems from a passion for continuous learning and an innate curiosity to embrace new challenges. I firmly believe in Nelson Mandela’s words, “It always seems impossible until it’s done,” which persuades me to approach complex problems with discipline, perseverance, and a solution-oriented mindset. Seeing these efforts translate into tangible business outcomes and meaningful value-addition is very rewarding and that inspires me the most.

Is there a specific project or achievement at FLAG that you are particularly proud of?

Over the last 10 years at FLAG, it is difficult to single out one achievement, as my journey has been defined by consistently delivering through complex challenges, close collaboration, and a strong commitment to meeting critical business objectives under demanding timelines.

However, I take particular pride in contributing to FLAG’s major ERP transformation initiatives, especially the migrations in 2016 into SAP and again during 2025–2026 into MSD platforms. These programmes have played a key role in streamlining our processes and enhancing transparency in business operations.

How do you approach challenges and overcome obstacles in your work?

I approach challenges with a practical and structured mindset, taking time to understand the underlying issues, priorities, and their broader business impact before determining the best course of action. I believe resilience is essential to navigating complex situations and maintaining focus under pressure. Clear and timely communication with stakeholders helps build alignment, manage expectations, and drive effective execution. This approach enables me to overcome obstacles while delivering sustainable and practical outcomes.

Who has had the biggest impact on your journey at FLAG, and how have they influenced you?

At FLAG, I have been fortunate to work with exceptional leaders who have fostered a culture of transparency, continuous improvement, and ownership. Their willingness to share knowledge, challenge me constructively, and support my professional growth has been invaluable. Equally, I have been privileged to work alongside highly supportive and knowledgeable colleagues, and together we have consistently achieved our shared goals through collaboration and mutual trust.

How has your role evolved since joining FLAG, and what are you currently learning or trying to improve?

Over the years, my role has evolved from focusing on a single functional area to contributing to FLAG’s broader business and digital transformation journey. I joined FLAG in 2015 during a pivotal phase of ERP transformation, where I supported the transition to a more effective platform while driving process improvements across Financial Planning & Analysis and related commercial functions.

As FLAG continued to evolve, my responsibilities expanded to contribute to Enterprise IT, ERP, and strategic transformation initiatives. This progression has provided me with the opportunity to grow alongside the organisation, embrace increasingly complex challenges, and contribute meaningfully to achieving our shared business objectives.

What advice would you offer to new employees or those striving to excel in their careers at FLAG?

Proactively take initiative, step outside your comfort zone, maintain a learning mindset, and never hesitate to ask questions. Seek opportunities to learn from colleagues across different teams and functions, as diverse perspectives are invaluable to your growth. Above all, remain adaptable and open to change – the dynamic nature of FLAG provides exceptional opportunities for both personal and professional development.

What’s something people might be surprised to learn about you?

I hold a Master Diploma in Indian Classical Dance, and I have performed at the ‘52nd World Congress on Dance Research’ in 2017 under the aegis of the Conseil International De La Danse which is the umbrella organisation for all forms of dances across the world, founded within the UNESCO, headquarters in Paris.

What’s a small moment at FLAG that made a big impression on you?

One development that has made a lasting impression on me is FLAG’s growing emphasis on fostering a culture of appreciation and recognition. Recognising individual and team contributions helps create an environment where people feel valued and respected, serving as a powerful source of intrinsic motivation while reinforcing a positive and collaborative workplace culture.
