FLAG deploys Ciena’s WaveLogic 6 Extreme on ECHO

FLAG is deploying Ciena’s Waveserver platform, powered by WaveLogic 6 Extreme (WL6e), across our dedicated fibre pair on the ECHO subsea cable system.

Connecting Singapore, Guam and the US West Coast, ECHO adds a new high capacity route between Asia and North America to FLAG’s global network, supporting growing demand for AI, cloud and enterprise connectivity.

Brad K., Chief Network Officer at FLAG, said: ‘Our investment in ECHO enables us to transport rapidly growing volumes of AI, cloud, and enterprise traffic across one of the world’s most important digital corridors.’

The deployment will also help us bring new 400GbE and 800GbE services to market, while strengthening the scale, resiliency and performance of our Trans-Pacific network.
