Could you share some insights into your background and how you came to join FLAG?

Before stepping into the telecom industry, I began my career in the IT sector, building a strong technical and operational foundation. In June 2003, I transitioned into the telecom domain with Reliance Telecom at DAKC (Dhirubhai Ambani Knowledge City), where I gained extensive experience across wireless, wireline, and subsea cable operations, as well as consumer, enterprise, carrier, and international/global businesses. Throughout my journey, I have also worked in customer front office, back office, customer service, collections, sales support, which has given me a comprehensive understanding of the customer journey and internal business processes. By consistently coordinating with sales teams and engaging directly with customers, I have been able to build and maintain strong client relationships, ensuring seamless service delivery while driving revenue growth and operational excellence.

How do you approach challenges and overcome obstacles in your work?

The motivation I gain from my role drives me to tackle the day-to-day challenges of emerging technologies introduced by customers. My focus is on ensuring customer satisfaction and meeting sales requirements, which not only enhances productivity and revenue but also strengthens long-term customer relationships. I actively coordinate with all team members to deliver projects efficiently, approaching each task with grit, passion, and a sense of ownership. I remain proactive and enthusiastic, always ready to take on the next project from customers and sales, ensuring consistent value delivery and business growth.

Is there a specific project or achievement at FLAG that you are particularly proud of?

In my role at FLAG, I focus on preventing revenue leakage and continuously enhancing pre-sales tools to streamline operations and improve efficiency. I actively work on high-value revenue orders, ensuring optimal delivery and customer satisfaction. I also take responsibility for training new team members and supporting cross-functional teams, coordinating seamlessly with groups beyond my own to drive collaborative success. Additionally, I coordinate closely with the product, testing, and support teams to ensure smooth project execution and high-quality delivery. I contribute to new tool enhancements for initiatives such as the India Licence project, collaborating with legal and product teams to ensure compliance, efficiency, and successful implementation

How has your role evolved since joining FLAG and how have you grown as a professional?

At FLAG, I have been deeply involved in both strategic and hands-on operations across multiple domains. From gaining in-depth understanding of subsea cable systems to managing technical information, pricing strategies, and design solutions, I ensure that every project meets high standards of efficiency and reliability. I have taken ownership of enhancing tools and implementing new processes to deliver smoother services, while handling high-revenue regions and projects involving OTT customers, which demand precision and coordination. I actively support engineering teams on cable enhancements, oversee POP creations, and lead compliance initiatives to ensure all operations meet strict legal and organisational requirements. These responsibilities have required grit, long hours, and cross-functional collaboration, allowing me to contribute meaningfully to both customer satisfaction and business growth.

Are there any mentors or individuals who had a significant impact on your career here?

Throughout my tenure at FLAG, I have had the privilege of learning from and being guided by exceptional mentors, including Mr. Vineet Verma, Mr. Pankaj Gupta, and Mr. Manoj Nair, whose insights have been invaluable in helping me navigate complex business challenges. I take pride in providing unwavering support to my team, stepping in to assist with critical situations regardless of hierarchy, and leveraging the organisation’s flexible standards and regulations to deliver results efficiently. This collaborative environment has not only strengthened my professional capabilities but also enabled me to balance significant personal commitments, including providing 24/7 care for my differently abled son, while maintaining high levels of productivity and leadership. By combining empathy, mentorship, and a strong sense of ownership, I have been able to foster team cohesion, drive operational excellence, and consistently contribute to organisational growth, demonstrating that personal dedication and professional excellence can go hand-in-hand.

What advice would you offer to new employees or those who are striving to excel their careers at FLAG?

If I had to give advice to the new employees of FLAG, I’d say this: take full advantage of the guidance and mentorship available, actively learn from experienced colleagues, and embrace every opportunity to grow your skills. Be proactive in understanding technical processes, cable efficiency, and product development, while contributing to revenue growth and operational improvements. Approach your work with humility, patience, and a collaborative mindset, and don’t hesitate to seek support when facing challenges. By balancing learning, ownership, and teamwork, you can make meaningful contributions, enhance customer satisfaction, and thrive within the organisation.
