- Could you share some insights into your background and how you came to join FLAG?
I joined Flag (GCX) in May 2022, after being approached about an exciting opportunity within the organisation. From the moment I learned more about Flag and GCX, I was inspired by the company’s vision and values, and knew it was a place where I wanted to grow and contribute. Joining the team represented not only a chance to be part of an innovative and forward thinking company, but also an important step forward in my career journey.
- Is there a specific project or achievement at FLAG that you are particularly proud of?
It is difficult to highlight just one specific project or achievement as I have had the opportunity to contribute to many meaningful initiatives. However, I am proud of how much I have grown since joining FLAG. Being involved in various working groups and contributing to the HR strategy has been incredibly rewarding and fulfilling. Organising CSR activities is one of the most rewarding aspects of my role, as it allows me to support those in need and give back to the community we work in. I’m very passionate about this work, and collaborating with my colleagues on these initiatives has been a significant achievement. When I first joined the company, my focus was supporting employees in the UK, Germany, and the Netherlands. I quickly expanded my responsibilities to become the HR contact for all employees across Europe. Today, I serve as the Global HR contact for GCX and actively contribute as a member of the Management Team.
- How do you approach challenges and overcome obstacles in your work?
When challenges come up, I try to stay calm and look at what I have to work with before deciding on the best way forward. I prefer to face issues directly rather than avoid them, and I have found that keeping a clear head helps me find practical solutions more effectively.
- What role do your colleagues and team members play in your success at FLAG?
I truly believe that success is never achieved alone. My colleagues and team members play a huge role in my growth and accomplishments. Their support, collaboration, and shared commitment make all the difference. Working alongside such talented people not only makes me better at what I do, but also contributes to our collective success as a team and as an organisation.
- Are there any mentors or individuals who have had a significant impact on your career here?
Yes for sure. Throughout my time at Flag (GCX), I’ve been fortunate to have incredible support from those around me. Lorenzo has always encouraged me to challenge myself and believed in my potential, often more than I believed in myself. My manager, M U, has shown great trust by giving me the independence to run the region while always being there when I need guidance. More recently, I have also found a strong sounding board in a few colleagues I have worked closely with. Supporting women in a male dominated industry is something I care deeply about, and I am grateful to have an empowering network in Nadya, Ali, Gia, Gabi and Vimal who inspire me every day.
- How has your role evolved since joining FLAG, and how have you grown as a professional?
Since joining Flag, my role has evolved significantly, expanding in scope and responsibility. I have been fortunate to contribute to the business by applying my knowledge and experience, sharing ideas, and providing input that helps shape decisions. Professionally, I have grown tremendously, gaining exposure to different areas of the business and working across regions. This broader perspective has allowed me to develop a deeper understanding of the organisation, strengthen my skills, and play a more active role in driving initiatives forward. The experience of collaborating closely with diverse teams has been both challenging and rewarding, reinforcing my ability to adapt, learn, and make meaningful contributions to the company’s success.
- What advice would you offer to new employees or those striving to excel in their careers at FLAG?
I would tell any new joiner that this is truly a great place to work. There are significant opportunities to grow and excel in your career, and those who work hard, contribute positively, and demonstrate their value can make a real impact on the business. The leadership team is extremely supportive, fostering development, encouraging initiative, and creating an environment where dedication and collaboration are recognised and rewarded. It is an inspiring place to thrive professionally.
