CommsDay: Carl Grivner

Our CEO, Carl Grivner, recently spoke with Communications Day (CommsDay) about how FLAG is building for the future, following the successful refinancing of US$340 million to accelerate global fibre and data centre expansion.

We’re proud to have secured this funding, marking a major step forward in developing the infrastructure needed to meet growing demand from AI, cloud and enterprise connectivity.

As Carl noted to CommsDay: “We’re kind of seeing the trail-off of the wave of technology called cloud and we’re beginning to see the next wave of technology in terms of AI. And the demands on the network, the demands on the infrastructure in terms of data centres and power, is going to be much higher than it was versus the cloud world.”

New capabilities will be announced over the coming months, and additional routes are actively under consideration as we continue to extend our global network and strengthen digital infrastructure.

Carl added: “I think ultimately we want to get back to the home of a lot of the OTT players in the United States… taking you somewhere in Asia, back to the United States and into a lot of the data centres in the US as well.”

We’re also seeing growing demand from enterprises and second-tier OTT providers and we’re investing accordingly, especially in regions where latency, governance and proximity are critical.

This is an exciting time for FLAG, and there’s much more ahead. Read the full article at https://www.commsday.com/
